It is often said that India is a place that all people must see. It is a land full of contrasts – a place with over a billion lonely people, a place of clothes and food full of color set against the filth of poverty, a place where playful children and joyful smiles daily engage the difficult realities of hunger and homelessness – a place of immeasurable beauty and immeasurable need.
Join us this summer as we head to a small village called Dharmashala, residing in the foothills of the Himalayas; a beautiful twelve hour bus ride due north of New Dehli. This small little city/village is a home to the exiled Tibetan people, along with a melting pot of both Indian and foreign travelers. Imagine a small town filled with Buddhist monks and nuns, and many little Tibetan children running off to school. It is one of the greatest places to see and learn about different world views. We will spend our 3 weeks trekking the Himalayas and working with nonprofit groups focused on Tibetan children, serving the Tibetan exiles, and empowering this culture through education.
Come experience India with us. Learn what it means to serve the least of these. Ghandi contemplated that “the best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others.” Discover the truth in this maxim alongside the people of Northern India. Come change your life as you Impact the lives of the poor. Come find yourself in India.
