No matter what your stage in life, we’ve got an experience designed to buck traditional vacations in favor of adventure. We’ve developed experiences for high school and college students, twenty&30 somethings, parents & their children, and even corporate teams.
Join us for a trip, internship, semester abroad, or gap year experience. Whatever the edVenture, Impact will challenge you to see the world differently – to face the complex challenges facing individuals and communities around the world and engage those challenges with a spirit of optimism and hope.
Our trips, ranging 1-3 weeks in length, expose participants to physical, emotional, mental and spiritual challenges both domestically and abroad. Through challenge and service, participants grow as individuals and as a community. The shared experience catalyzes and transforms passions and leadership qualities that drive participants toward deeper engagement of their world. While most trips are designed for students, we have developed several parent-child trips to generate a shared experience and family bond that will never severe. Check out this year’s trip schedule.
For students, we offer internships, ranging from 4 weeks to a semester long that pair vocational experience in a particular community with reflective engagement of broader social struggles and cultural issues. Participants work vocational in a specific field (e.g. agriculture, business, education, medicine, social services, or pastoral ministries) while engaging critical texts, seminar speakers and each other in reflective discussions wrestling with complex social and cultural challenges. Each internship program drives personal and social development in participants as well as deeply impacting the community served. Our internships work with exceptional non-profit organizations that have extensive experience with the culture and community being served. In this way, our participants gain incredible cultural and vocational insight as they serve, think, and learn to lead together. Check out this year’s array of internship opportunities.
We also have several residential semester programs under development. Lasting 15 weeks in the Fall and Spring and 10 weeks through the summer, our semester programs will combine project based learning and experiential approaches to education with hard work, vocational experience, and incredible adventures. Currently we are developing residential semester programs with partners in the Bahamas, Spain, and Uganda. The notion of a “gap year” between high school and college has been growing rapidly in Britain over the last decade and is catching on in the United States. Presently, we are equipped to connect students with meaningful experiences around the globe which provide vocational experience, cultural immersion, a chance to serve, and an education on leadership. A gap year can be an incredible journey allowing participants to discover who they are becoming, what their passions are, and how they desire to invest themselves.
