The Santa Barbara Impact team returned challenged and changed by entering the lives of the homeless. Pairing service to the homeless with adventure, this group of young people enjoyed surfing, night hiking, swimming, cliff jumping (from safe distances of course), biking, and blasting each other with paint balls.
In partnership with Journey Ministries, San Marcos Christian Camp, SB Rescue Mission, Casa Esperanza this group traded a typical vacation for a deeper look at the kind of life worth living – one that creates space for incredible fun and powerful community, and investment in the lives of those with need.
An incredible trip full of adventure – snorkeling, cliff jumping, spinnaker flying, and (oh yeah) sailing – and service. We had a chance to hang out with students near Great Harbour Cay in the Berry Islands, clean up loads of rubbish, and work on a building project at an orphanage just north of Current Cut. Students became the crew of the Sundancer and sailed from port to port.
